My husband and I bought a beautiful gold ford escape two years ago and, since we are still making payments on it, it is fully covered by Geico. Last winter, two separate events occured: 1. While driving down the highway, our kayak partially fell off top of our SUV and caused several dents in side and top of body before we were able to stop. 2. We had an ice storm in our area a few months after this accident and someone hit us and didn't leave a note. It is still a mystery what happened, but we found a big puncture hole in our bumper..and we think it may have been caused from the side of the bumper from a bus or something..as we were on a busline. So....the damage by both accidents is cosmetic and hasn't interfered with driving the car. It just doesn't look very good. We put off doing anything about this because we couldn't afford deductible AND didn't want our rate to go up. But we are really tired of looking at the damage. Our ded is $1000 too, which is more than we can afford. So..my questions are: 1. Is it too late to file a claim? 2. Will our rates go up...esp given so much that happened to this car in a short period of time. Doesn't look good! 3. Is there an affordable way to handle the high deduct? I'm 20 years old and have a valid UK driver's lisence. As I am now living in California, I was given a 'California Temporary Driver's License'. This expired yesterday but I have my behind the wheel test on Monday (12/7/09). Is this expiration going to be an issue? Okay...so my husband has a 2004 Subaru WRX - bought from a private dealer. We have a car loan from our bank with no extended warranty. Our insurance is through Harleysville and we have to have full coverage on it so it's kinda pricey since his car is under the performance class. My car, is a 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i - just bought last month from a dealership with extended 5 year/60,000 warranty on powertrain (engine areas) and drive train (AWD) (?) something like that and is not bumper to bumper. We also have a car loan from the bank. The thing is, I have our car insurance on low deductibles making our monthly premiums high. I was thinking, since I have warranty on my car, the deductibles can be higher with a lower monthly premium since I have warranty from the dealer. Although, the warranty is only on powertrain and drive train, if I get tboned or scratches, then yes, I would have to pay a higher deductible to get my car fixed. What is the best thing to do? Right now, both our cars are at about $240/mo for our insurance premiums. We are safe drivers, never had an accident or speeding ticket. We are clear as of now! What are you opinions and thoughts... Complicated car insurance question. Car damaged mulitple times. How should we handle this?

My husband and I bought a beautiful gold ford escape two years ago and, since we are still making payments on it, it is fully covered by Geico. Last winter, two separate events occured: 1. While driving down the highway, our kayak partially fell off top of our SUV and caused several dents in side and top of body before we were able to stop. 2. We had an ice storm in our area a few months after this accident and someone hit us and didn't leave a note. It is still a mystery what happened, but we found a big puncture hole in our bumper..and we think it may have been caused from the side of the bumper from a bus or something..as we were on a busline. So....the damage by both accidents is cosmetic and hasn't interfered with driving the car. It just doesn't look very good. We put off doing anything about this because we couldn't afford deductible AND didn't want our rate to go up. But we are really tired of looking at the damage. Our ded is $1000 too, which is more than we can afford. So..my questions are: 1. Is it too late to file a claim? 2. Will our rates go up...esp given so much that happened to this car in a short period of time. Doesn't look good! 3. Is there an affordable way to handle the high deduct? Will body shops work with you on that? Thank you in advance!

Alright, so this is my story. I am getting new Mazda3 next week. I am 19 years old male (my dad is paying for car). My mom will pay for my insurance (full coverage). The problem is, my mom and my stepdad are divorced, but she is driving car he bought and she is paying him for that car, so she is under his All-State insurance. Now I need insurance and what to do? So i got pulled over for going 28 over the speed limit haha..... It was on a highway and the speed limit was 55 i was going 83 ..... Im from florida and my car and license are all registered in florida but im in georgia right now living with a friend trying to attend college (except i cant find a job cause the worlds slowly dieing lol) But anyways so i get pulled over by this state patrol narcotics douche bag who mind you has no teeth to begin with and in my mind either his mom beat his teeth out of his head or hes a recovering crack head who had lost all of his teeth over the years. Either way he pulls me over and says You were going 83 on a 55 , may i see your license I give him my license he goes back in the car and yeh i was thinking he didnt ask for my proof of insurance or registraion. I would think that he would considering im from out of state. **** Im gonna rant on how this narcotics officer frisked me my question will be at the bottom lol***** So yeh he comes back to the car after running my license and tells me to get out of the car..... I was at this point like .... Ok? So i get out go to the back and he says I asked you to get out cause i see your eyes are red I told him ummm it could be the fact that im allergic to dust and pollen and im driving with the windows down, i rub my eyes cause they itch thusly they get irritated. Im a month from being 20 and never got pulled over before and ofcourse i said yeh w.e. I smoke cigarettes and when he went to go search my car he comes out freaking out.
